10 Days / 9 Nights
Maasai Mara
Detailed Day Wise Itinerary
1
Day 01 - Arrival into Kenya - Nairobi
Arrive in Nairobi and meet your Mizizi Asili Adventures host at the airport for transfer to your hotel. Settle in and rest after your flight - light refreshments, room check-in, and time to recover from
travel.
Welcome briefing in the evening: meet fellow travellers, review the 10-day journey, and share opening prayers and introductions.
Welcome dinner together and early night, ready for Nairobi exploration tomorrow.
Good to know: Keep arrival day unhurried. Drink water, adjust to Kenya time (EAT), and keep passports and essentials in your hand luggage.
2
Day 02 - Nairobi National Museum & Maasai Market
Morning: Nairobi National Museum - explore Kenya's rich heritage through exhibits on culture, nature, art, and early human history.
Walk the museum grounds and botanical gardens, with time for photos and quiet reflection. Afternoon: Maasai Market - browse handcrafted beadwork, carvings, textiles, jewellery, and
artwork, and meet the artisans behind them.
Evening: dinner together and preparation for the Masai Mara safari - pack a small overnight bag and charge cameras.
Highlight: Carry small notes for market purchases and take time to hear each artisan's story - every piece has a maker.
3
Day 03 - Nairobi to Masai Mara - Afternoon Game Drive
Depart Nairobi after breakfast for the Masai Mara, watching the landscape open into savanna. Arrive, check in and have lunch at your Mara lodge or camp.
Afternoon game drive: first search for elephants, giraffes, zebras, antelope, and big cats as the light turns golden.
Evening: dinner under the stars and stories from the day.
4
Day 04 - Masai Mara - Full-Day Safari
Early morning game drive when wildlife is most active, returning for breakfast or carrying a picnic into the reserve.
Full day exploring the Mara with your guide - rivers, plains, and seasonal wildlife concentrations. Picnic lunch in the bush and unhurried time to simply watch and photograph.
Late afternoon: return to camp, rest, dinner, and reflection on the day.
Safari tip: Neutral colours, a hat, sunscreen, and layers for cool mornings make game drives comfortable.
5
Day 05 - Maasai Village - Cultural Celebration & Dinner
Be welcomed into a local Maasai village (manyatta) by your hosts, with traditional song and the famous jumping dance, Adumu.
Walk the village together: see how homes are built, hear how cattle shape daily life, and learn about beadwork, dress, and custom from the people who live it.
Celebrate Maasai culture: join in dance, try beadwork, ask questions, and share stories - guest and host learning from each other.
Eat dinner with your Maasai hosts, enjoying food shared in fellowship as they show you their way of life, before returning to your lodge in the evening.
Heart of the day: Come as learners. Ask permission for photos, accept hospitality warmly, and let conversation - not the camera - lead.
6
Day 06 - Masai Mara to Matunda Soy - Arrival & Welcome
Depart the Mara after breakfast and travel west through Kenya's highlands toward Matunda Soy, with comfort stops along the way.
Arrive in Matunda village in the afternoon and meet local Baha'i friends who will host your stay. Evening fellowship: welcome gathering, introductions, shared prayers, and dinner with the local
community.
Rest early - tomorrow is devoted to the Temple and the village.
Travel note: This is a longer road day. Keep water, snacks, and a light jacket to hand, and enjoy the changing countryside.
7
Day 07 - Baha'i Temple, Matunda Soy & Village Fellowship
Morning visit to the Baha'i Temple in Matunda Soy: time for prayer, reflection, and learning about the Temple's place in village life.
Fellowship in Matunda village: home visits, conversation, and meeting the families, youth, and children of the local Baha'i community.
Share in community life as your hosts arrange it - which may include devotional gatherings, study, children's activities, music, and storytelling.
Farewell dinner and prayers together in the evening, with gratitude for new friendships before tomorrow's journey to the coast.
Spiritual heart of the tour: These days are not sightseeing. Come ready to listen, pray, serve where invited, and build bonds that outlast the journey.
8
Day 08 - Matunda Soy to Mombasa - Arrival at the Coast
Travel from Matunda Soy to Mombasa as arranged by your guides - by road or flight connection via Nairobi, depending on your group's booking.
Check in, rest, and take a first walk on the beach, feeling the pace slow to coastal time.
Late afternoon in Mombasa Old Town (time permitting): carved doors, spice scents, and centuries
of Swahili, Arab, and Portuguese history, including the Fort Jesus area. Seafood or Swahili dinner together by the ocean.
9
Day 09 - Mombasa at Leisure - Beach, Culture & Rest
Slow morning: sunrise walk, swim, or quiet reflection by the sea.
Day at the coast as you choose: beach time, optional boat or snorkelling excursion, local market
visits, or deeper exploration of Old Town and Fort Jesus with a guide.
Afternoon rest and time to pack, journal, and share photos from Mara and Matunda. Evening: group dinner and closing reflections on the journey's fellowship and friendships.
Coast tip: Dress respectfully in Old Town, carry reef-safe sunscreen, and keep hydrated - coastal sun is strong.
10
Day 10 - Final Morning & Evening Departure
Unrushed final morning in Mombasa: last swim, beach walk, souvenir stop, and farewell prayers together.
Check out and travel to Nairobi in good time for your onward connection, as arranged for your group.
